Question type: Maintenance & Repair

is there any reason why i would have oil in all my vacuum lines on my 1996 360c.i.? today i am replacing the pcv valve, crankcase breather and all the oil soaked lines. are there any other fixes anyone can think of that may cure this issue?

Yes find the source of the oil leak. Are you sure its oil or could it be Power Steering fluid. 90's Dodges are famous for the PS pump leaking at the fittings on the unit not the pump. If your PS lines are leaking just replace and do not attempt to tighten (it will get worse) experience and gallons of PS fluid are what I base this on. The over pressure created in the engine compartment from the fan will fling a drop of fluid to look like a quart.

my ps line is leaking, its being replaced. but even then, the oil is IN the vacuum lines, and IN the air filter housing.im replacing the two valves, if that does not fix it, i am putting a can of seal restore in to check the seals

PS fluid wont get into the vaccum lines past the booster. PCV stands for positive crank case ventilation, so your truck doesnt have a crankcase breather its all contained into the PCV valve. your best bet after you buy a new one, is to get the mini cone filters that you can mount right on the valve itself, this will eliminate it from dumping oil into your vaccum lines if it fails again. PS i had the same issue on the same truck.
