does a 1997 1500 dodge ram truck have a fuel injection, a fuel injection body
or a carburetor  I was wondering if I have to have my foot on the gas pedal to
start it

Throttle body. No carb. I give mine a small gas pedal but probably don’t have to. Out of habit.
