Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck will start and stay running fine until I turn
on my headlights or use the brake then it slowly
dies unless you turn off the headlights or left off
the brake then it will idle back up and stay running.

This may sound basic but have your battery and alternator checked. Also check them when turning on the lights to see if that electrical load makes a difference. If those check out then you may have a bad ground which can be a pain to track down. Start with obvious connections and fuse box and relays. Good luck!!

Replaced battery still not working. Is even worse now it backfires and takes forever to get up to speed. Still dies while stepping on brake or using headlights.
