Trans problems

Asked by Jul 22, 2017 at 08:36 PM about the 1999 Dodge Ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a rebuilt automatic in my 99 Dodge
Ram sport 5.9 4x4 awhile back and
everything was great but then all of a
sudden I lost first. You can feel it almost
engaged but just slips. All the other gears
work. If I put it in 4low down a slope and
get it moving fast enough to get to 2nd it
takes off and shifts fine. Puzzled! Please
help.
