Won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 ram 1500 v6.  Drove it around brought it
home woke up the next day and it won't do anything. No
power any where. Put a jump on it . Took a little bit but did
get it. Let it run for about 3 min. Turned off back to no
power. Did it again got it running. Let it run for 10 minutes
shut it off and same thing but now my fuel system relay is
clicking. Any help

Maybe just a bad battery? Once you get it started, if it will run all day w/o any problems until you kill it, it sounds like the charging system is ok. Some of the national brand auto stores will check battery and charging system. You can use digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off. The generic spec for full charge, 12.6 volts, if down, use a charger. With the meter still touching battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, does the reading drop, if so, how far? You shouldn't use generator to charge dead battery. Make sure battery connections are all good. I doubt 3--10 minutes is enough to charge, anything. Just my opinion.
