Dodge ram 2002

I have a Dodge Ram 2002 I change the motor with
a 2007 Dodge Dakota the motor won't start up  it
just turn over in the battery acting like it  going
dead

Are the teeth on the tone ring the same there is a 16 tooth and a 32 tooth if they are not the same the computer won’t let it start
