Clutch

Asked by GuruNY7N6 Oct 16, 2019 at 12:29 PM about the 2006 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving, gonna shift into 4th gear but as I put
my foot on clutch pedal applied pressure.. Clutch
was hard and made like a grinding noise, so I got
to neutral without stepping clutch, rolling, tapped
pedal made noise again.. Pulled over on side of the
road, truck still on and on neutral.. Clutch is hard,
no grinding noise since not moving.. So I pushed
pedal in once then twice and then hose right a
front of slave burst... So now got a huge leak..
Should I jus buy a new kit and change out master
and slave??.. Or is there a worst problem since I
caused the burst by force.. Im wondering bout the
grinding noice, as driving step on clutch was
harder and made grinding noise... As parked and
truck on and on neutral no grinding noise but hard
and then I cause the burst by forcing it...

I don't know if this will help, but here's a video showing a potential reason for gears to be grinding when shifting https://youtu.be/l8wjrifuh44 I hope this helps.
