2002 Chrysler T&C

Asked by Matt May 04, 2019 at 11:04 AM about the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery went dead and we had to charge it back up. Now went you use the FOB or key to unlock the doors or open the doors the horn goes off. The only way to shut it off is to start the van. Assuming this is the anti theft device we have tried every thing we can find to reset it with no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA.

Try this: from inside manually lock all but the drivers door, with keys in hand exit the vehicle close the drivers door and using the key manually lock the drivers door, wait at least 3 minutes then using the key manually unlock the drivers door, enter the vehicle and start the engine and let it idle for at least one minuet, then shut down and exit the vehicle and lock the car with the remote, wait at least 3 minutes then see if it will work as it should. If it still acts up then you will need to go to the dealer and have the system totally re-coded.
