Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a 2003 T&C. Noticed the passenger sliding door wasn't working, upon inspection, found that the harness had been removed at the plugs (plugs still there). Replaced harness and when attached the new one, started the vehicle and it died. Lost all power to everything. Disconnect the harness and everything works as normal. Any ideas?

they wires usually break and short out its repairable all u have to do is unplugged harness on both end and ohm each wire and im sure you will find the short or simply pull the harness cover and look for bare wires very common problem on those vans ....

I replaced the harness with a brand new one. when it's plugged in, it kills the WHOLE van electrically. When you unplug it, everything works fine.

if you are handi with multi meter I would say ohm the harness ....the problem is at the door ...remove door panel and look for any wiring that are most likely burnet or overheated to the point that they are caked together .....
