My malfunction light came on (looks like an engine) i was driving in snow hit brakes at red light and was on ice then felt like ABS kicked in jerked van then was fine just light is still on

my malfunction light (one looks like an engine) will not go off after hit brakes
on ice vibrated real hard stopped - felt it vibrate in steering wheel stopped
then was fine but light is still on ( I think my ABS was engaged when on ice!

your abs should engage at this time. you are going to have to get the computer scanned for codes. autozone and some other auto parts places will do it for free. then post back here if you still need help.

Yes, hitting the breaks on ice was the ABS system kicking in. The engine light, you will have to go somewhere to have the computer scanned for engine codes. This would tell you what needs attention to be fixed.

Thank you i will I am divorced and my ex was a mechanic so i am trying to figure out things myself already fixed my auto locks and my auto sliding door myself!!
