probally have to loosen up the motor mounts, and the tranny mounts, support the engine and try to get enough room to move it forward to access the rear plugs

the method jacob suggests is actually given in the early 1980's service manual of GM. i did it blindly from the bottom of the car but i had trouble with #6 on the 2000 model. my slim hands made it do-able but it still can be bruising using different extentions without loosening the motormounts. on the wires, remove the oil neck then remove shroud and trace wiring. #6 plug was unsuccessful for me. good luck.

I have a 99 lesabre and I have done it twice without much trouble, I just remove that cross brace thing that's in the way, I think it's 2 nuts on each side. Try not to drop anything back there, because I dropped the metal heat shield that went on one of the sparkplug wires and I had a heck of a time finding it. I was actually thinking of swiping one off my neighbor's car, it didn't run anyway, lol. I finally found it inside a crossmember back there! Same cross brace to remove if you have to change the blower motor for the a/c.
