engine will not go faster than 50

while driving about 70 on highway speed odometer goes wild and car slows down to about 50 and will not go any faster.

does the speedometer slow or the actual car slows and the speedometer is accurate. the first thing i would try is start with the basics. fuel filter, injector cleaners. not much to tell ya by the descriptive problem.

My car just lost power and wouldn't go over 50mph either. Buick knows they have a weird intermittent problem, but sounds like there is not a fix yet.
