initialization after battery discharged and left system in unknown position.

grandkids visited and witout knowing it they were inside the 2007 prius
messing with the interior and pusing buttons and turning knobs. that left the
lights on in the on position which discharged the 12volt battery. after i
discovered the car wouldnt start i had to remove the battery to charge it. now
upon reconnecting it, i find i need to initialize the system. how do i determine
what was the status of the system when the battery discharged so i can
initialize it correctly?.

All you need to do is turn the car on "Ready" mode and let it sit untill the hybrid battery discharges . The engine will turn on and charge it to 50% state of charge. You are done.
