break lights out

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Break lights out.... They only work when u have lights on and
use left turn signal, other wise no break lights, anyone know
what it could be?

You need a multi tester or test light to see if the contacts in the sockets for the bulbs are doing what they're supposed to , brake lights can go through the directional switch , funny huh ? Brake lights will always come on ,H.A.T,, hot at all times , if bulb is loose in socket different things can happen .

Ok so as I thought it could be either the switch or the sockets.... I was starting to think it was a wiring problem.... I did pull the steering wheel off but I could figure out how to get the housing off, I'm sure their is a way, just have to look harder... Thank u...
