Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 98 ford f150 i replaced the hot wire
from battery to starter cuz it was giving me
problems ran good for about a week then as i
was leaving work yesterday it would not start
like a battery termail so i pop the hood and got
a jump and nothing so i gounded the jumer
cables to the block and it started i was on my
way home and it died on me about 5 miles
down the road so i got another jump this time it
wouldnt do nothing in less i pulled the ground
off the batter and grounded the jumper cables
to the block if i hooked the ground back up to
the battery i would lose power but as long as i
left it off i could start it and i drove it home like
that with the ground off the battery but i cant
figure out why i have no power at all

Sounds like your ground is bad. Check the ground wire from the battery to it's location on the block or connection point for bad contact. Then begin using an ohm meter to check the conditions of the grounds.
