My 1999 F150's radio comes on after I turn off the truck draining the battery.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there a fix to this or is FORD just not responding? My truck is a 6 cylinder 5 speed manual 4 door. I have read that many owners have the same issue...

Radio will not come on unless there's power going to it from ignition switch. Check ignition switch

Ok so your radio is connected to the Alternator meaning that it has to be getting power to it due to the car turning on. I bet the wires have become brittle and just need to be replaced because they can touch a live wire fro. The battery and stay on.
