We have a 199 Ford F150 2×2 automatic transmission. The transmission
needs to be replaced. Can we replace it with a 2001 same make and model?

Possibly, you failed to list which engine is in your vehicle. 4R70W is common as is the 4R100. Just make sure the transmission models are the same.
