Truck won't start

Asked by Tmowrey Oct 23, 2016 at 03:20 PM about the 2000 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced my fuel pump on my 00 Single
cab Ford F150 and it cranked up better than before
for about four or five different times and then I
turned it off again and it went back to doing the
same exact thing as before when the fuel pump
was bad. So I replaced the pump again and it still
won't start up. I replaced the fuel filter as well and
put new lines on it. I don't know where to start
looking to work now.

Are you sure it's a fuel issue ? Have you checked for fuel.pressure ? Ignition spark ? Have you looked at the fuel.pump relay ? If you've replaced the pump twice odds are it's either not a fuel issue or you need to dig in further such as a relay ,wiring issue or injectors not initiating .on the injector fuel rail there is a valve with a plastic cap on n it . Under that cap it will look like a tire valve stem .cycle.the key several.times amd then depress that valve gently with a small pick or screwdriver ( careful if you have fuel pressure it will shoot out gasoline ) . If you have a decent release of fuel there it may not be a fuel issue .or it is from there the problem may exist i.e. fuel.pressure regulator ,injectors not being Initiated . I can't remember but you may have a emergency fuel cut off switch on that model ford which can also be faulty aND disrupting the fuel pump circuit .good luck hopent h is helps get you going again .
