Truck won't hold charge
My truck won't hold a charge. I haven't 2
alternator on it about still hasn't fixed the
problem. Any suggestions?
Have you had your battery checked
Might have a short and it's draining battery down, It's called a parasitic draw. You can test it by following this link....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF1gijj03_0&t=232s
Try this, start your truck and while running, take the positive side cable off of the battery, see if the truck still runs under a load, with lights, AC, wipers, all the electronics on. that will tell you if your alternator is doing its job. you can also buy a voltmeter and check the voltage at the battery while the truck is running, see how many volts you get, it should be between 13V and 14.2~ or so no more than 15V. If its below that, you are not charging your battery adequately, if its more than that, then you are over charging it.
