Do you have any codes stored in the PCM? (DTC Codes for check engine light)
Ok - If my memory serves me well (which is questionable at times as I was a Ford Service Manager for years) Those years had some weird issues with failing Fuel Pump Driver Modules. when they fail they leave the truck with a crank no start situation and no DTC's present. Part runs about $100 aftermarket last I remember. Might be worth a shot
okay...slow down...I do believe the problem is more basic than we think...since it's a 2003, it's had plenty of opportunity for the battery and battery cables to corrode and stop letting proper amperage through~ something as simple as the ground cable to the block if corroded can play hell with performance...just a thought~
Check engine compression, u may have a bad timing chain also try it with ur spare key just to make sure
as Irori011 has asserted a compression check would tell us right away, do we get a cough cough...or just whir whir whir DEAD~ with no sound coming from the valve train...or this sounds normal? kinda have to know if the engine sounded right before the troubles~ I do believe you've got an electric fuel pump the disabler under the driver's dash may have been triggered~
