Is It true that I have to pay $4600 for not adding engine oil?

A few weeks ago, my engine starting rattling when I pushed the pedal. No
one told me what the engine light lighting up on the dashboard means so I
didn’t do anything. Today, after I got a $100 checkup, I learned I did not
add engine oil to the engine and the engine did not have oil and
overheated which wrecked the whole engine. I’m clueless on these things
and I didn’t know I am supposed to add oil to the engine myself. He told me
I am supposed to if the light comes on again or bring it in again.

What Engine and Mileage?

It could cost a lot more than $4,600 to replace some engines so next time put oil in it. Not putting oil in an engine is like not feeding your dog for a month.

Do you remember receiving a notice from Toyota concerning " Excessive Oil Consumption?
