BMW X5 STARTS & SHUTS OFF SHAKES WHY

BMW X5 STARTS & THEN SHUTS OFF OR SHAKES LIKE ITS DYING OUT
UNTIL IT SHUTS OFF, THERE IS A WEIRD SMELL & ALL THE LIGHTS ON
THE DASH & SCREEN GO IN & OUT WHILE THE CAR SHAKES. WHEN IT
COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF & I TRY TO TURN IT ON IT CLICKS. I HAVE TO
WAIT 20 MIN BEFORE I CAN START IT AGAIN FOR IT TO DO IT ALL OVER.

Is it cold where you live? then there may be air leaks in the intake, check for any cracks or loose hoses on the intake.
