I replaced the speedometer cable in my 65 289 mustang the odometer turns but the speedometer does not. What did I possibly do wrong.

If the odometer is turning then you installed the cable correctly, the problem is in the speedometer head itself, usually it is a speedometer shaft bushing or the drum and that is something only a speedometer shop can fix.
