I cant get the inside door handle off of my 1963 thunderbird

1963 thunderbird I have proper removal tool but cant get anywhere with it, Ive tried softly softly etc is the clip embedded or can I use some sort of "hook puller"

I cant press the panel in far enough to see what's happening if someone could confirm that im doing it right ill just continue

1 I pushed the tool along the length of the handle towards the rear of the dar
2 Im aware the clip is close to the handle itself

Ive watched youtube and but for jiggling it I cant see what else to do

Help??

Take a shop rag and twist it into a "U" shape. Place the shop rag behind the handle and pull. This should catch the clip and release it. Jim

Thanks to jimstbirds I used a kitchen rag, once around the handle and without any fiddling the clip jumped straight off. thanks Jim?
