how do i know if the numbers match (vin and engine) on my 1960 thunderbird?

1960 thunderbird convertible. I have the engine out of the car but I don't see any numbers that match the serial number on the vin plate.

T-Bill- I don't think you will find a matching VIN on the engine. The only numbers I can see are on a small 3.25 inch tag located near the upper water pump mounting bolt ( on the driver's side of the car.) Good luck from Bovan.
