i have just purchased a 1957 t-bird older restoration,i would like to put newer street rod wheels and tires,but whatkind and size

Does it have disc brakes? the 57 sure as sunshine did not- probably you are gonna want to start with an late eighties Ford with standard stuff on it, of course dual cylinder master, and your call for drums on the back...depends on how far "custom" down that road you're willin' ta take it~

if you could get yourself a de-commisssioned police interceptor with the 5.8 liter engine, the wheels would be ripe for customization, the tranny and rear end would be perfect for hard duty too, check your police auctions!

keeping the stock body on a 57 most back then were 14s ,15 inch do justice for them old rats, going 18 or 20 with a low pro tire look good also. usually a steering clearance though, staying in tune nostalgic would still be creager s s 15 inchers without spinners .the look!

Regarding the tire width, you should consider what the wheel well can handle.

them things is lookin' all kindza crazy, my wife commented why just put not an old time wagon wheel...that'd be the look...mormon preacher~
