Will Body parts from a F250 work on a F350

Asked by sidandme Mar 06, 2011 at 09:18 AM about the 1962 Ford F-350

Question type: Car Customization

I have an 1962 F350 flatbed that was my grandfathers and I am trying to put it back together. Right now it has no engine but I plan to put a 429 in it that came out of a 71 Torino. The biggest thing I need to know is if body parts for the F250 will work on a F350. If yes or no are there any web sites where I can find parts. Ebay is very little help, due to the age of the truck. LMC has all the F250 parts I could use they just can't tell me if they work for F350.

usually yes, the only differences are weight ratios and other various options, but as long as its the same body style, everything should interchange

Thank you. That helps a lot. Like I said I have found all kinds of parts for the F250's. Thanks again.

yeah no problem, a little tip for future referance, if its the same body style, most everything will work, im not positive about all years, but examples are, 73 to 79, everything is the same but the grill inserts, and 80 all the way to 97 are very close to the same, all they changed in that time period was the grill and headlight styles and the dash, but if you ever have a question, i can most likely answer it for you, i grew up and will die a ford guy lol

Ford Trucks had a lot of matching years and the 150, 250 and 350 Cabs were interchangeable with a little drilling for the rear cab mounts when going from various frame setups.

I have a 62 F350 like yours but it's not a dually and original flare side pick up box is long gone.. Are the f 250 boxes the same as the f 350 ones?

Hi Kevin, I do not think the boxes are the same because it is a different wheel base length, just like a short bed will not fit a long bed, An F-350 usually has a much longer wheel base with the back axle considerably closer to the rear. There is a possibility that a F-250 might fit for those early models though, I have a 1969 Explorer Camper Special and it looks like the axle is further back, But I haven't measured it.
