I was having gas from rear tank coming to front tank. I figured bypassing the divertor valve and only using the rear tank would stop the stalling. Is this bypass OK ?

If gas is goin to the front tank why would you want to use the rear tank?

Yes you can do that. My 91 f150 does this also but i just keep switching back and forth between the two tanks.
