tail lights on 150 maroon and gray pick-up

I am trying to get some information about this F150 XL maroon and gray pickup. The tail lights are on the side of the tailgate. I've had no luck locating a picture or any information about this truck. Any asistance would be appreciated.

Sounds like a dealer-installed option of some sort. I've never seen anything like that in my travels.
