Will turn over, but hard to start. When it does start, and the gas pedal is pushed and the truck is in either nuetral or park, a whining noise is heard.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

V8, 302, not fuel injected.  Could the starting problems be due to a fuel filter or fuel pump?  What could the whining noise be due to?

THE STARTING PROBLEM COULD VERY WELL BE A FUEL OR FIRING PROBLEM. THE WHINING COULD BE A LOSE BELT THAT STOPPS UNDER PRESSURE.
