Compatible body, interior and parts for 79 f150 2WD

My dad recently handed down his
79 F150 2 WD to me. He drove her
off the lot in 79 with 4 miles on
the odometer and she's been a die
hard beast ever since. However
she does need some work here
and there, mostly cosmetic with
the body and interior. My plan was
to hit the junk yards and see what
I can find. It would be helpful to
know what years of f150 are
compatible with my 79. Also I
know that my dad had to replace
the motor and put in the 351 from
my 79 Ford Tbird just wondering if
any other Ford vehicle parts are
compatible as well. If possible
can you please give me a basic
idea of what to look for when I hit
the yards. Thank you

Easiest way is to check on various parts sites. Plug in the part you are looking for and jot down the part number. Many sites also list which model years the part will fit. Then check on the same part for a few years newer and older. If the part number is the same, you're good to go. I suspect there will be few 40 year old f-150 sitting around in junk yards, long ago having been crushed.
