Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It is not a bad connection or battery. All
wiring is correct. But something is causing
it to burn up one every couple of weeks.we
have put a new motor in it (400 ) but it has
done the same with the prevous 351 m it
had. It will continuously turn over until you
hit the solenoid with something. Or it will
draw till it kills battery. Today it gave me
power to the cab but would not turn the
starter over. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

heavy arc at the copper discs that slam together when activated will weld them stuck till you tap it loose, maybe resistance in heavy connections at ground or starter itself drawing high amps

I will check the ground wire to the starter. That is the only cable not replaced it does have a new starter thinking it was the problem. If not it might be a wire running to the alternater or the brain box because the brain box has melted but I replaced it.

if the brain box melted about the time the problem with the solenoid started you may have also melted wire inthe harnes causing the solenoid problem
