Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 76 f150 that was running great, I was driving it home and it ran out of gas suddenly, both tanks have fuel but there is no fuel to the carb. would a fuel pump just up and die with no warning signs?

Is it mechanical still? If so the diaphragm would have went bad or the spring or the arm going into block and/or the in and out valves, So it can be diagnosed pretty simple, Most times it leaks if it the diaphragm but its old so its worth a check.

I ok I have a f150 cult 5.8 not getting fuel to carbs ,replaced relay switch in fuse box .still no power to fuel pumps.
