Runs and stops

I got a ford 1976 runs 2 mile and stops running wait 15 20 minutes and starts
runs another 2 3 miles and stops again

Sounds like fuel pump is going bad,

if fuel pressure is good,might check the coil on this model.

1976 would be first generation solid state ignition so the known failures are distributor stator, ignition module, both should be replaced at the same time, easy job. Next check for correct fuel tank venting, if the vents don’t work then vacuum builds up and the pump can’t pull any fuel out of the tank. Now if you even suspect the fuel pump replace it with a new ethanol resistant one and make sure all the rubber fuel hoses are of the new multi fuel design.
