78 vette chassis repairs, is it a common problem? mainly in rear.

thinkin bout buying a 78 silver ann, owner said rear chassis was already done so i never had to worry about that. i read somewhere that the rear frame in these cars were weak,wonderin if this is a reinfocement issue or a rust issue, be interesting to see what u think.  thanks

Thats a bunch of crap, they are very strong. I owned a Corvette repair shop for over 35 years and never had the problem. If it's a east coast car the frame might be rusted and that will be an issue. Check it out very carefully.

Have a good mechanic go over the entire car. If it's in good shape and you love it, buy it and enjoy it. Every car made has had a problem for someone at some time. That does not mean it will be a problem for you. If you do the due diligence upfront, you shouldn't run into any problems. Also check to make sure the car wasn't in any serious accidents that would effect the structure adversely.
