87chevy r10 was running turn lights on shut down wont start

Hi my 87 Chevy r10 was running out in drive went
couple feet turn my lights on and it slowly lost
power and died. Try to start it it cranks but won't
fire up

Have you over heated your engine? Also is there coroding on your terminal or any of the +/G wiring? Have you checked all of the fuses? I had a 96 s10 that had the same issue. Ended up being my distributor cap. On the inside there is a little wheel that spins to time your ignition. Somtime you get corosion on the little connector that prevents the arch from happening. Turning on the lights might have reduced the power just enough were that arch was not made. If your vehicle was spudering before this happened that would be the first place I personally would look.
