2003 Chevy s10 4x4 dash light says truck is in 4 WD, however, have, no power to front wheels. Shifts into 4 lo and 4 hi hear noise, front wheels no power. Have changed the transfer case switch on top and, the vacuum activation switch under battery. Help please. 14 Answers

4 WD not working on front wheels

Was rolling in 5th gear going 60, heard aloud screeching noise and it threw us forward in the seat and slowed it immediately to about 40.I pulled off to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the truck.I looked around and couldn't see anything visibly wrong.I started it up again just fine and started rolling in 1st gear, then I tried to shift to 2nd the truck just stopped and wouldn't go into any gear.At this point the truck will start but when I let the clutch out, it dies(in neutral). Had to remove my drive shaft to be towed on towrope because it wouldn't roll smooth in neutral. When the engine is running now I don't feel any vibration through the gearshift anymore like how I used to before it broke down. What could it be? 3 Answers

Can i remove the the 10amp fuse to disable the 4 wheel drive on my 2001 chevy blazer 4.3 L/S 4 door?. Will this let me drive in 2 wheel drive only and be ok to drive like this all the time?
