1986 S10 2.8 BACKFIREING

DOES ANY ONE NO WHY THIS TRUCK IS BACK FIREING OUT THE BACK. PUT EVERY SENSER IN IT NEW FUEL PUMP, COMP.NEW ROTOR CAP, NEW PLUGS,NEW MONDULE,NEW INJECTER,WE HAVE TIMED IT WITH TIMEING LIGHT IT WILL START AN IDLE FOR 2-3 MINUTES THEN IDLES UP AN DOWN UNTIL THREMASATE REACHES 21O THEN SMOOTHS OUT OK. THEN WHEN YOU GO DOWN THE ROAD AN SHLFT GEARS IT BACKFIRES OUT THE BACK REALLY LOUD.DOES ANYONE NO WHAT MAY BE WRONG WITH IT? THANKS DEB.

Did you replace the fuel pressure regulator? It sounds like it is dumping too much fuel into the engine. You may still have a problem with one of the sensors. I would suggest trying to read the engine codes if you can access them on this vehicle (it is not OBDII, I believe it is OBDI) and see what is showing up wrong. How is your catalytic convertor?

your problem could also be a bad seal in the engine block or the seal between the carb and the block is bad. either way, i think it sounds like oxygen is getting in the engine by other means then the air cleaner
