I have installed a new battery in my S 10 and there is a battery light that stays on in the
dash, the only way I can get it off is to disconect the battery.

Could be a problem with the alternator. Take it to one of the auto stores that do free checks on alternators.

Thank you for the information, I will certainly check the alternator before i do anything else.

Thanks again for the information, I checked the alternator and it was bad put on a new one and it fixed the problem.
