have a 1979 corvette.

Asked by ZeeDawg Jul 04, 2011 at 09:42 PM about the 1979 Chevrolet Corvette

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When you first start it,its OK but if you shut it off it doesn't want to start. had a few
people say you have a bad ground on the starter.
A few others have said that the starter is too close to the exhaust and it is
overheating.
You need to move the solenoid to the firewall.
Really need some help with this.
Thanks in advance.

it could be that the alternator is shot, may want to have that checked before going through all that work to redo the soldering. and depending on how many miles are on your can you should prob. change the spark plugs .
