the question is can I use...say 3 to 4" blocks front and rear for the leafs to get the ride height I want? I was told you never want to use blocks in the front, but I don't see the harm if the leafs are over the axle, don't plan on using this for hard core offroading, just a cruiser.

Blocks are not that great when it comes to actualy using your truck, but if you just keep on the streets I don't see why it would bother anything. Cheap and quick to instal too. Just don't try and push it too hard or you'll end up sorry.
