Well i got an 1980 Monte Carlo and the radio i got in the car is one you can take out with you i was wondering if this was a standard option for Monte Carlos back then, i also have a pic of the radio

That looks like an old aftermarket radio. You can see jagged edges where they had to open the dash up to make it fit. Originally they had the old casette deck with the two knobs like this http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/3089000-3089999/3089961_14_full.jpg

definitely an aftermarket. it had two knobs one left & one right. the station presets were actually LOCKING preset buttons which were mechanical AC/Delco! u PULL OUT the button select the station with the right knob and PUSH IN the button; set. from then on u just press in the button and it goes to that location. not like these new fangled thangs! lol

I was wondering whats that big Black object right above that? vents or something else?

Yea no kidding i was just wondering sense i was looking in the brochure and it shows it with just an empty slot for a radio.. and this radio is old but you can plug in your MP3 player into it which is weird..

No not the socket but were there two vents would be, there's that huge black space above the AC and everything.
