Question type: Car Customization

car: 1977 corolla ke30 2 door 1.2 4 speed. im going to be doing alot of mods to the car and the engine is the main concern for now due to lack of power and one of my options is a small block 350. i have an extra 5 speed for the car but i want to save it and keep from wearing it out incase it will mount to a 350 without an adapter plate. it would make things way easier if the statement that they will marry up no problem is true.

LOL V8 corolla! The front end would be sitting on the tires from weight and the tranny would blow from torque. No it doesn't mate up with anything Jap without adapters.

Im gonna be doing alot of reinforcing to the car. I just like to learn and figure in what options i have to go with. Ill most likely do a v8 swap but with a t5 cause i cant stand automatic trannies. Its not gonna be a show car by any means. Just a driver and alot of fun. Or a 1jz

Why not get another (brand) car that already has a V8- lot less work & money in the end! Then you can spend your time modding the motor thru JEGS or the like and have something engineered for 'all that' to start with.

Because its unique and i hate the aspect of cars such as mustangs where evrytime you open your eyes you see one. Ill honestly probably do a 22r cause i wont have to do any fab really for weight of the motor and i have the 5 or 4 speed tans already and minor things as far as hook up. Keep it toyota as well as carb. None of this dash light fuck up efi stuff. Noted it has its advantages but im definantlya carb guy by far. For me its not about looking cool really its about having fun and a car that makes a story.
