The vin does not correlate with the hp rating - all the 65 vettes with 365 hp had engine suffix of HH without ac , HL with ac and HK with Transistor ignition. HM was with both ac and ti. It is stamped on the front of the engine pad as a suffix that follows an F for Flint mich , or a T for tonawanda NY. Then there are four digits that give the Month and year. The block stamping is preceded by the last five of the VIN. Hope this helps. Mike of Ponca.
