Dear Waldo 86er-- My own personal guru, Tom Fahy of the Newton Street Garage in Brighton, Ma. has spent long hours telling me about the odd engines he has used a replacements in a wide variety of cars. He says that the only determining factor is whether or not the engine mounts and the transmission can be matched to the replacement engine. Of course, he adds, there will be some custom wiring that will have to be done, so it is not a task for an amateur. So give it a try. Good luck from Bovan.
