1994 Toyota Pickup heats up

My pickup overheated.  I replaced the leaking radiator. Then found that the water
was not circulating.  I removed the new radiator, thermosat and water pump and
found that they were all in working conldition.  When I pulled off the water pump
green anti freeze ran out.  The radiator  had clear water in it further confirming
that water was not circulating.  I am stumped!

upside down thermostat? will not open!

7jimmy7 has the best old "The mosted missed by DYI-ers" idea- don't ask how I know :-( Also check if you have a air lock (bubble) so the water can't circulate. Then are your radiator hoses new? an old one could be collapsing, even internally, when under use, but look fine . They should feel stiff /hard not easily squeezed. Check to see if your getting circulation in the heater core - this will help isolate the circulation problem to the front or back of the engine block. Good Luck HTH
