how do you disable theft deterrent system

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

every time i open a door, the trunk lid, or the hood the
horn starts beeping, the parking lights flashing. also the car will not start and its locked in park. how can i disable this system??

Hi Jack ... Obviously the anti-theft system impacts a number of different systems in your car and as such it's a very tricky bit of sidestepping that your are contemplating. I didn't find much info in Chilton's, certainly not enough to smartly (and safely) disable it, if that's even your best option. It's time to take this to a dealer to have the anti-theft system debugged. Barring that maybe he can help you reset the codes or find another way to live in peace with it. He may also know of an easy way to disable it. If you don't want to go that route you may try a trip to your local car alarm shop. If they are friendly enough they may give you some advice for free. Model 3100 Installation Guide - directeddealers.com. Look this up and it will give you the features and controls, it also has alarm diagnosis.
