Hi bjdanie, Sometimes the throttle position sensor goes bad and delivers the wrong value to the computer system. This could be attributed to an abnormally low or high idle speed. You might try using some fuel injector cleaner to try and clean out your fuel system - just as a precaution. Hope this helps!

Sometimes the computer can be tricked into thinking it needs to slow down the idle too much . Some things could be a partly plugged air filter , dirt in throttle plate area , tune up required . you might have a "lazy" oxygen sensor tricking the computer into an overly rich /or lean fuel mixture , causing the truck to idle erratically . If no check engine light is on , the problem is a little harder to find , sometimes a diagnostic check may be required ( computer check , scope check , etc ) to determine if a system is not working properly.
