Why would engine not ignite when trying to start

Asked by Griffen Jul 17, 2020 at 05:32 AM about the 2005 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Washed the engine bay yesterday. Thereafter it would not start. Turning key,
engine rotates but seems there is no spark.
Spark plugs checked - no problems noticed.

Electronics and water do not play well together.
