My 1990 won't kick down( the accelarator) any ideas?

2.5 4 Cyl in the last couple of days has been hard to get the accelarator to kick down, and today it won't kick down at all.

Hello, Is this a constant problem? Can you give a few more details on this, such as when it started, etc? Thanks! CarGrrl

sounds like the idle pin is stuck, to fix that, you would have to locate it on the throttle body and take it out, when its out, spray it with son carb cleaner. i had the same problem with my s10, and that fixed it

do you mean it gets stuck revved up, or the transmission wont downshift when your trying to pass or merge into traffic?
